Freedom

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners - Isaiah 61:1

Do you know how Brick Kiln People Surviving in Pakistan ?

Pakistan’s brick kiln industry is one of the largest in Pakistan, employing millions of workers across the country. However, the industry is plagued by numerous issues, including exploitation, bonded labor, and poverty. Brick kiln workers in Pakistan are among the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in society, often working in hazardous conditions for very little pay. The majority of brick kiln workers in Pakistan are unskilled laborers who come from rural areas and have little education. They are typically employed on a seasonal basis, working for several months at a time during the brick-making season. During this time, they live on-site with their families in small, cramped quarters provided by the brick kiln owner. One of the major issues faced by brick kiln workers in Pakistan is bonded labor. Many workers are forced to take loans from the kiln owner in exchange for their labor, which they are unable to repay due to low wages and high interest rates. As a result, they become trapped in a cycle of debt and forced labor, unable to leave the kiln until their debt is repaid. In addition to bonded labor, brick kiln workers in Pakistan also face hazardous working conditions. They are often exposed to toxic substances and work long hours in extreme heat without proper protective equipment. This has led to numerous health issues, including respiratory problems and skin diseases.

Furthermore, brick kiln workers in Pakistan are paid very little for their labor, with wages as low as $3 per day for making unto 1200 bricks a day. This means that they are unable to afford basic necessities such as food, housing, and healthcare, leading to extreme poverty and malnutrition. Despite these challenges, there are several organizations working to improve the conditions of brick kiln workers in Pakistan. One such organization is One Vision Society, an NGO that works to promote the rights and welfare of marginalized communities in Pakistan. Our aim is to provide education, healthcare, and other basic services to brick kiln workers and their families, and advocate for their rights and freedom.
